Characteristic Features

- Shell moderate in size and heavy.

- Outline elongate.

- Left valve is slightly larger than right valve.

- Shell surface white in colour.

- Periostracum with fine bristles, dark brown in colour.

- Sculpture of about 35 ribs.

- Hinge line straight, teeth numerous.

- Horse-shaped anterior adductor muscle scar, globular-shaped posterior
adductor muscle scar.
